Flag Exchange 2016

"Flag Day is such an important way to celebrate our country and Vancouver's strong commitment to patriotism," declares, Bruce Davidson. This is why we are excited about our very first Flag Exchange!

Flag Day is celebrated on June 14th as a way to remember the adoption of the American Flag that occurred in 1777. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation establishing Flag Day as June 14th, but it was not until 1949 that National Flag Day was established by Congress. There are many brave men and women who fight for our freedom each day. It is important for us to remember that our freedom does not come free, so we encourage all to display the American flag with pride.

In celebration of Flag Day, we here at Davidson & Associates Insurance are excited to offer an American flag exchange program for the public! Anyone, and everyone, is invited to pick up a new 3'X5' flag and/or drop off old flags at our office in Downtown Vancouver (610 Esther Street, Suite 101). The event will take place June 6-17, 8AM-5PM.

Fort Vancouver District Boy Scouts of America will perform proper flag retirement ceremonies for all old flags. Exchanged flags should be removed from poles and dried if wet.

This Flag Exchange pairs well with the Flag Day celebrations at the Fort Vancouver National Trust's 22nd Annual Flag Day where Davidson & Associates Insurance Representing PEMCO Insurance is the presenting sponsor. We are honored to offer new "Stars and Stripes" to our residents and to sponsor these special Flag Day activities.

Make sure to participate in all the fun activities as we celebrate and take pride in our American Flag!
