- Where would you consider your "hometown": Vancouver, WA because I spent most of my school years here, but I still have a special place in my heart for my birthplace Nikiski, AK, where I spent the first 8 years of my life.
- How long have you lived in the Vancouver area?: 26 years minus 4 years for college in Tacoma, WA and a couple years overseas in Tokyo, Japan after graduating. My husband and I also spent a couple years living in Portland but I’m not sure if that’s considered the “Vancouver area” or not J.
- What is your favorite thing to do in Vancouver?: My kiddos and I love Columbia Springs. Between the trout hatchery and the trails that make for great, kid-friendly hikes, I consider it a hidden gem. Other mom’s I’ve introduced it to feel the same way J.
- Would you rather live on the beach or in the mountains?: I think the mountains – I spent the first 8 years of my life living with a forest in my backyard and used to love exploring it with my brothers. I enjoy visiting the beach, but I don’t think I could handle living with all that sand everywhere all the time!
- What is your favorite snack?: That’s a toughie. I think I’d have to say popcorn (all varieties both sweet and salty)…
- If you had an extra hour everyday, what would you do with it?: Just spend time snuggling and playing with my kiddos – nowhere to be, no agenda and no technology…
- What is your biggest fear?: That something would happen to one of my two boys – illness, injury, etc.
- Is there a book that you could read over and over again and not get sick of it?: The Dream Giver by Bruce Wilkinson. It’s such a powerful parable about achieving your dreams and overcoming obstacles…
- What is your favorite movie?: A Dangerous Beauty which is about a 16thcentury Venetian courtesan.
- What is your dream vacation?: My ultimate goal is to have a life that I don’t feel the need to take a vacation from, but there are many, many places I’d love to travel to. I’d say at the top of my list would be a months-long tour of Europe including my great-grandparents’ motherlands of Slovakia and Ireland.
