Flag Day 2019

Celebrate Flag Day with Davidson & Associates Insurance!

Friday, June 14th we celebrate Flag Day and show our strong commitment to our community.

Flag Day honors and commemorates the Flag’s adoption on June 14th, 1777. Many years later, in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a presidential proclamation establishing a national Flag Day on June 14th. Although Flag Day is not an official federal holiday (except in Pennsylvania where Flag Day is considered a legal holiday) it is a day to celebrate and honor the adoption of the Flag.

Here at Davidson & Associates, we are proud to offer two opportunities for our communities to get involved and celebrate this monumental day in our history.

Flag Exchange:

With support from our partner, Grange Insurance, Davidson & Associates is holding a free community Flag Exchange from June 7th-17th, 9 am-5 pm, excluding lunch from 12 pm-1 pm. “Flag Day is such an important way to celebrate our country and Vancouver’s strong commitment to patriotism,” said Emily McCoy, Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator. “As part of our commitment to the community, we are honored to sponsor the Flag Day Celebration and provide new flags to our residents to fly high and proud on June 14th.”

Residents can exchange their old US flag for a new 3’ x 5’ flag at the Davidson office, 610 Esther Street, Suite 101 in downtown Vancouver. New flags are available while supplies last, we will accept all old US flags for retirement. Exchanged flags should be removed from poles and dried if wet.

25th Annual Flag Day Celebration

In addition to hosting the Flag Exchange, we are also honored to be the presenting Sponsor of this family friendly Flag Day Celebration. Celebrate Flag Day with the community and The Historic Trust at the 25th Annual Flag Day at Fort Vancouver. The celebration begins at 5:00 pm at The Bandstand at Fort Vancouver National Site, across from the Grant House, 1101 Officers Row.
