Flags for First Responders

Sunday, June 14th we celebrate Flag Day and show our strong commitment to our community.

Flag Day honors and commemorates the Flag’s adoption on June 14th, 1777. Many years later, in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a presidential proclamation establishing a national Flag Day on June 14th. Although Flag Day is not an official federal holiday (except in Pennsylvania where Flag Day is considered a legal holiday) it is a day to celebrate and honor the adoption of the Flag.

Here at Davidson & Associates, we are passionate about the Flag Day and how for hundreds of years the flag has flown high and proud throughout our 50 states, and unified thousands of communities, just like our very own in SW Washington. Over the past 5 years, we have hosted an annual flag exchange to celebrate this monumental day in our history.

This year, 2020, as an agency we find this message of celebrating our flag, and mission to support our community more important than ever. We are honored to provide the opportunity to give US flags to 100 of our community heroes & first responders.

Flags for First Responders

With support from our partner, Grange Insurance, Davidson & Associates has pledged to give out 100 free flags to our community first responders. Community members can utilize our website to nominate a first responder or request their own flag by filling out the forum. Upon completion of the forum we will have a new 3’x5’ US flag delivered to their home to fly high and proud in honor of Flag Day. We are accepting nominations until June 10th or until supplies run out.

Our vision is a community, stronger together- even while we remain 6 feet apart. We visualize every neighborhood across town, flying a flag to symbolize the strong commitment we have to patriotism and one another. We encourage our community members to nominate a first responder, raise a flag, high and proud to support and honor one another and come together. Thank you first responders for your service to SW Washington!
